Dave’s right on advice to the innovators of the world

I am not one for swearing, but in this case it feels about right. Dave or 500 Hats wants us to stop being afraid, which paralyzes, and start getting on with the business of building our businesses. I agree with him. Enjoy his rant.

Then There Was Light…

Billions and billions of little bits floating around in our multi-verse.
Cisco recently published a report stating that by 2012 the Internet would be navigating 522 Exabtyes of data across the web annually. That is a half a Zetabyte. See the post below:
http://blogs.cisco.com/tag/exabyte
Quickly, a Zetabyte is 1 Trillion Gigabytes bytes of data. That is about 250 billion DVDs. That is a lot, Lot, LOT of data.
What does it mean?
First it probably means that we are watching too much video on the web. Although there is Second Life, there is, more importantly, First Life – friendships, family, health, the great outdoors, etc.
Second, though, and more relevant to this Blog, it means that video is the next driver over the web. It means that there will be a huge amount of data, but one has to question how much truly meaningful information. So the second order effect will be how people can make sense of it. It means that companies like Veeple will be searching for ways to cut through the noise and provide our web ecosystem, users, publishers and advertisers, more meaningful and actionable information. And, hopefully, making this information engaging and less intrusive.
Keep watching, reading, listening and commenting. We will listen too. Stay in touch.

In The Beginning…

In the beginning…
Never underestimate the power of what a small group of dedicated people can accomplish.
18 months ago, given the advent of video content delivered over the web, a small group of developers had the idea that the video viewing and sharing experience could be and should be much more engaging. At the same time, the advertising intrusiveness on the web was out of control with ads popping up all over the place, destroying the video viewing experience. It was the realization of these 2 simple facts that was the catalyst for Veeple.
Veeple is an interactive, in-stream video ad platform that helps web publishers and advertisers monetize video over the web in a way that is more relevant, more engaging and less intrusive. The Veeple platform consists of 4 critical components: Creative Interactivity, for more engagement, an advanced video analytics engine, for more relevancy, a deep brand / logo image search capability, for more context, and dynamic ad insertion, which hopefully results in less intrusion.
The competitive Blogs, mostly however, talk at great lengths about themselves. We intend not to do that here. If you are interested in what we do and how we do it, including our creative business model, then simply go to our primary site and click on one of the many “Contact Us” buttons.
Instead, we plan to use our Blog mostly to inform, educate and engage with those of you who are early adopters in this new market and those of you who wish to stay one step ahead of what’s coming at us.
We hope you will find this meaningful and enjoyable.
Buckle up, as it’s going to be a wild ride.
Best,
