How does the Veeple interPlayTM Interactive API work?

INTRODUCTION

What is Veeple?

Veeple represents the next generation online video solution, offering businesses and marketers a simple, cost effective way to create interactive / actionable videos, which increases user engagement. In general we help all web publishers upload, manage, enhance, deliver and measure their video content. Our comprehensive platform consists of:

  • A Video Asset Management and Delivery System
  • Rich Interactivity
  • A Configurable/Brandable player
  • Advanced Analytics

Why should I use Veeple?

Veeple is Interactive – The video experience is shifting from a "lean-back/passive" experience to a "lean-in/active experience." The days of "sitting and staring" are over and if you really want to effectively communicate with your audience and generate the kind of response you are looking for then adding interactivity to your videos is a must. Unlike traditional online videos, Veeple makes video actionable, enhancing messaging and increasing user engagement. And Veeple's interactive technology is simply the best there is for intuitively engaging your audience across the web.

Veeple is Affordable - Veeple is by far the most affordable video service on the market today for small and medium businesses. Starting at just $99/mo for our Level 1 package, you get access to the entire Veeple service. We understand that a lot of web publishers simply want to start small and grow and we have designed our service to support this. As you grow we can scale with you. And if you are already big and serve hundreds of thousands of users with large video files we can do that too!

Veeple is Easy to Use/Simple – We know that our customers are very busy and do not have time for complicated systems and convoluted platforms. With Veeple there is nothing to download to your computer as everything is done over the internet and we don't require a bunch of APIs and third-party applications to make our full service work. We do it all in-house, simple and easy. So if you ever need support for any part of the Veeple service there is only one company you deal with – Veeple.

Veeple is Comprehensive - Veeple is the "one-stop-shop," video solution for content providers who seek to enhance brand experiences. Veeple is:

  • Content Management
  • Interactive/Clickable
  • Delivery
  • Advanced Analytics
  • Configurable
  • Cost Effective
  • Complete

Veeple Supports Agencies – We have built out our service to make it easy to use for any agency or company that serves multiple video clients. With features such as multi-user access with permission-sets, extensive video folder management, and a custom analytics/reporting dashboard, Veeple has created a service that makes managing multiple clients a breeze. For more on our Partner Program click here

Where did the name come from?

At Veeple we believe in the power of storytelling and that everyone is a storyteller. Every person with video content, be they a web publisher, marketer, or individual, has a story to share through their video with the people that are there to listen. With that as a backdrop the name Veeple then made sense to us – The "V" stands for "Video" and the rest stands for "people." – VEEPLE.

Does Veeple have its own video content?

Veeple is not a destination site and does not have its own content. We do not provide content but rather provide a service that allows anyone who has their own content to upload, manage, enhance, deliver and measure their video.

How much does Veeple cost?

Veeple is a monthly subscription service. We have four price levels, all based on volume.

  • $99/mo for up to 10,000 views per month
  • $199/mo for up to 50,000 views per month
  • $399/mo for up to 100,000 views per month

For any views over 100,000/mo contact us at sales@veeple.com for special pricing.
For more details click here to visit the pricing page on our website.

What are the differences between price points?

The are only two differences. 1) The amount of views each plan allows. 2) Veeple's Custom Plan allows for files larger than 100MB, the other plans do not. Other than that there are no differences. Unlike many services that provide many additional features as you upgrade to their higher plans, Veeple has kept our model simple and gives you access to our full menu of services at all levels.

Can I pay for my subscription with a credit card?

Yes. This is the only way to pay for your subscription. We offer a very easy way to pay with any of the four major credit cards – MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

Is my payment transaction safe?

Yes. We are an https site that uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a cryptographic protocol that provides security and data integrity for communications over the internet. Your transactions are very safe at Veeple.

How do I change my subscription?

Log in to your account and under the Account Billings tab change your plan by selecting a new one, and then clicking on the "Update My Account" tab. Its that simple. Note that your new pan rate will take affect at the beginning of the next billing cycle.

What happens if I run over my viewing limits during a given month?

If you reach your viewing limit for your given plan you will then be charged $.005 per view over the limit. You can also choose to place your account on "hold" at any time. If you do this your deployed videos will no longer play until you take your account off hold.

Does Veeple charge storage costs for my videos?

No we do not charge separately for this. The storage cost is included as part of your monthly subscription plan.

What is included in the free 30-day trail?

With our 30-day free trial you get full access to the entire Veeple service and up to 5,000 video views to test your videos on your websites and out on the internet. If you reach 5,000 views before or at the end of the trial period and you have not upgraded to a paying account, your deployed videos will not longer play and your account will be placed on hold. You will then have 90 days to choose a plan and upgrade to a paying account. Should you take no action in that 90 days your account will be closed and your videos will be removed from the Veeple service.

What happens to all of my videos if I cancel my account?

If you cancel your account you will still have access to your account and your deployed videos will play until the end of the month that you have paid for. After that month we will close your account and delete your videos from the Veeple service.

How is my account billed?

For customers that are on one of our monthly pay-per-view subscription plans, we bill for our service a month in advance. So the customer is billed at the first of the month for that month’s services. For the first month that a customer signs up, that month is pro-rated for the amount of days that the customer is in our system. By way of example, if a customer signs up on the 15th of November on the $99/mo plan, they will first be billed at the beginning of December for both the pro-rated period of Nov. 15 – 30 ($49.50) , and then for the full month of December ($99), for a total of $148.50 on the first invoice. Each ensuing invoice will be $99/mo. Any video overage views are billed for the month’s prior usage.

For customers on our custom plans we bill the same way as above for any “base” subscription fee, and then the month’s prior GB/transferred usage.

INTEGRATION

What are Veeple's system requirements?

  • Adobe Flash Player 9.0.28+
  • Browsers - Firefox 2.0+, or Internet Explorer 7.0+, or Safari 3.0+
  • Windows Users - Windows 2000 Operating System or higher with latest updates installed
  • Mac Users - Mac OSX 10.3 Operating System or higher

What is the minimum internet connection speeds recommended for Veeple?

In order for an audience to have the best viewing experience, we recommend that they have a broadband connection of at least 1,000kbps, and preferably a minimum of 4,000kbps (2mbps). Most broadband companies today provide these speeds and more. If the viewer's connection speed is slower than 1000kbps the videos may take a long time to buffer before the play and provide a frustrating viewing experience. There is an option in the Deploy Video section of Veeple to "dial-down" the quality of your videos so that even a viewer with a slow connection like 1000kbps will have a decent experience. The video quality will suffer a bit but the viewer will have few "buffering" issues.

For your experience as a Veeple customer we must consider upload speeds as you will be uploading many video to our servers. The faster your upload broadband connection speed the quicker your videos will upload. As with the download speeds we recommend a minimum of 1000kbps upload and preferable 1,000kbps – 2,000kbps. Most cable modem connections are over 1,000kbps for both download and upload speeds and some are as much as 16,000kbps down, with 2,000kbps- 3,000kbps up. Most DSL connections are 1,000kbps – 2,000kbps down and up, referred to as "symmetrical.

To determine your Internet connection speeds click on one of the following two links:

What video file formats does Veeple support?

Veeple accepts the most popular web video formats, including .avi, .flv, flv4, .mov, .mpeg2, mpeg4 (MP4), M4V, and .wmv. We do not currently upload .swf files. Optimum frame size is 640 x 480 (4:3) or 640 x 360 (16:9). Note that you can upload any “custom” frame size that you desire, you are not limited to 4:3 or 16:9. If you have any problems with uploading a video please e-mail support@veeple.com.

What settings do you recommend to produce the best combination of image and audio quality?

With so many video formats and codecs there is no perfect setting for video and audio quality. That being said there are some parameters that will help to ensure your videos look their best. One thing you need to determine is if you want to encode your files for Standard Definition (SD) playback or High Definition (HD). Most decently encoded files will look great in SD over the internet. While HD is a better picture, it does require that the viewer have a good broadband connection and a robust computer system to take advantage of the HD. We recommend SD for most of our clients.

Video Encoding Rate

  • Standard Definition (SD): 400kbps – 1.0mbps
  • High Quality (HQ): 700kbps – 1.5mbps
  • High Definition (HD): 1.5mbps – 2.0mbps
Video Encoding Pass

  • Low motion video (I.e. Talking Head): Constant Bit Rate (CBR), One Pass
  • High motion video (I.e. Nascar Race): Variable Bit Rate (VBR), Two Pass
Video Formats

  • MP4 (H.264 Codec)
Frame Size

  • SD - Standard Screen (4:3)
  • Large: 640 x 480
  • Medium Screen : 480 x 360
  • Small Screen : 320 x 240

  • SD - Wide Screen (16:9)
  • Large: 640 x 360
  • Medium Screen : 480 x 270
  • Small Screen : 320 x 180

  • HD - Wide Screen (16:9)
  • 1280 x 720 or 640 x 360
(Though the true Web HD video frame size is 1280 x 720, due to this frame size resulting in larger video files and thus requiring better connection speeds for your viewers, we recommend using the 640 x 360 aspect ratio, unless it is imperative that you require the large 1280 format for such programming as video screen demos, screencasts, etc. 640 x 360 is a great experience for most online video audiences, particularly for shorter form marketing videos).
Native Frame Aspect Ratio
Video always looks its best when it is deployed in the same frame size that it was originally encoded at. When this is done the video is not scaled up or down, thus ensuring the best quality image. So we strongly recommend that you determine the frame size you will be deploying out of Veeple and encode your video files at that exact frame size. When you go to deploy your video the native frame size will appear as the default size for your video.
Audio

  • MP3 or AAC preferred
  • Sampling Rate – 44.1kHz
  • Channels - Stereo

Does Veeple support High Quality (HQ) and High Definition (HD) video?

Yes. At Veeple we encode your video at the same bit-rate that it was uploaded at (+/- 10%), up to a maximum of 2mbps. This "mirror strategy" maintains the quality that the content creator intended. For online web-based video, we consider any video encoded from 400kbps to 700kbps to be Standard Definition (SD), 700kbps – 1.5mbps to be High Quality (HQ) 1.5mbps to 2mbps to be High Definition (HD). So the higher you encode your original video, the better the quality will be. Veeple also supports the Web HD standard 1280 x 720 frame size (though for smoothest playback of your video files we recommend keeping your HD video frame sizes to no more than 640 x 360 if possible)

How do I upload a video?

After logging in on the Home page, click on the "Upload Video" button located about halfway down the page. On the "Upload Video" page, hit the "Browse" button to locate your video on your hard drive. Uploading begins automatically when you hit the "OK" button. Load time depends on your Internet connection speed and the size of the file you're uploading. Also, allow more time for longer videos to upload.

While the video is uploading, fill out the form to name and describe your video, assign it to a category, and add keywords to help others find your video via the search feature. Be sure to separate keywords by spaces, not commas. You can also enter all this data later if you want in the "Edit" mode in your account. All that is required to upload a video initially is the Video Title.

What is the maximum file size I can upload?

100MB for Subscription Plans Levels I – III. Maximum file size for Subscription Level IV (Custom) is currently 1GB

Can I batch upload more than one video at a time?

No. Currently you can only upload one video at a time to Veeple. We do plan on adding batch upload capability in a future release and we will keep our community informed of our progress. Note that if you have more than 50 videos in your library that Veeple will work with you behind the scenes to batch upload your library.

Is there a time limit on the videos I upload?

No. However keep in mind that the longer the video the larger the file will be. At an average bit rate encode of 1mbps, a one minute video will be approximately 7.5 MB in size. So a ten minute file will be about 75MB in size. If you encode the video at a lower encode rate, say 700kbps, a one minute video will be about 5MB, resulting in a 50MB file for a ten minute video.

Is there a limit as to how many videos I can upload?

No. Unlimited video uploads are included as part of your monthly subscription plan.

How long does it take to upload a video?

Uploading can take as little as a few minutes or many hours. Upload speeds depend on three factors:

  1. The size of the video file you are trying to upload
  2. Your Internet connection speed
  3. How busy our servers are

If you have at least a 1,000kbps upload connection it should take about 5 minutes for every 10MB of video file size. Please be patient. If you have a broadband connection and your video upload is taking longer than ten minutes for every 10MB of file size, we recommend canceling the upload, re-setting your broadband modem and router, and trying again.

Also, make sure any firewall software you are using allows you to connect to our server. If you are on a corporate or school network, the connection may be blocked. Check with your network administrator to find out what restrictions you may have.

What happens to the original media file after encoding?

Your original video file is still on your computer. When you upload your file to Veeple or your third-party server we make an FLV copy of the video to the Veeple servers.

Do videos stored on Veeple stream or progressively download?

Veeple videos progressively download. The progressive download approach maintains a constant data rate throughout video playback and better ensures good quality playback at any connection speed then does streaming technology. Progressive download is best suited for short-form video programming (under 5 minutes) while streaming is best suited for long-form and live programs.

Do I have to use Veeple to store my videos or can I use my current server or a Content Delivery Network (CDN)?

The choice is yours. You can either store your video on the Veeple servers or you can use your own server or Content Delivery Network (CDN). You can indicate your preference by either checking the "store video at your hosting site" button on the "Upload Video" page to indicate you'd like to continue hosting content with you current provider or leave the box unchecked and have Veeple host the content on your behalf. If you check the box, please fill in the required information, test the connection and you are ready to go.

Does Veeple use their own servers or a third-party service?

Veeple uses the robust and reliable BitGravity Content Delivery Network as our backbone. BitGravity provides delivery of video, software, and files of all types on the most advanced CDN in the industry. By eliminating unnecessary routing layers that other providers incorporated to manage problems faced a decade ago and storing all customer's content on all nodes, the BitGravity Content Delivery Network provides unparalleled throughput and responsiveness. Videos play smoothly without stalling or choppiness. The successful video destination site Vimeo runs BitGravity's CDN.

What do I do if I don't like the quality of the encoded media file?

A lot of this depends on the quality you begin with. Veeple cannot make your videos look any better than how they originally started. To steal from an old saying "the video is only as good as its weakest link." At Veeple we encode your video at the same bit-rate that the video was originally encoded at before it was uploaded to Veeple (+/- 10%), up to 2mbps. So if you are not happy with the video quality on Veeple then we recommend re-encoding your video at a higher bit-rate and re-uploading it to Veeple (up to our 2mbps limit).

The quality of your video file is also dependent on the frame size you deploy your video out to the web. Your video will always look its best if you deploy it in the native size that it was uploaded to Veeple at. So by way of example, if you uploaded your video to Veeple at a frame size of 640 x 480, then it will look its best if you deploy it at that same frame size 640 x 480. If you deploy your video at a larger or smaller frame size than its original native size the video will need to scale and this will always add some artifacts to your video.

Can I (or my customers) upload a media file directly from my website or blog?

No. You must upload your "raw" video file directly from your computer. Most videos that are already on a website or blog have already been converted and are playing from an "embed code." Veeple needs the original video file.

How does TubeMogul Distribution/Syndication work?

Note that if we have not been able to answer any of your TubeMogul technical questions below that you may also visit TubeMogul’s FAQ by clicking here. But please read our detail first.

Veeple has teamed up with TubeMogul to provide our customers with greater distribution choices for your online video campaigns. Our agreement provides our customers access to TubeMogul’s signature “Load and Track” service which gives users the capability to upload videos once and automatically deploy their videos to all of the top video sharing sites that TubeMogul supports. With Veeple users can upload their videos once to the Veeple environment, and then deploy those videos to their respective websites, blogs, social sites, and all the popular sharing sites – upload once, deploy everywhere!

To add the TubeMogul Distribution feature, simply log in to your Veeple account, go to the Account Details tab, and check the "Activate Feature" button. You will be asked to agree to the monthly $25 fee for the service. Once you accept the agreement, the feature will become active (Note that you can de-activate the TubeMogul feature anytime you wish but that the feature will still be available to you through the current billing cycle). For financial Terms & Conditions click here.

To configure your TubeMogul account at Veeple simply click the TubeMogul "Configure Edit" link in your Account Details and follow the instructions. If you currently have an account at TubeMogul, the system will direct you to that account where you will find a token that you can add to your Veeple account. At this point you will need to re-enter your Username and Password for each sharing site you wish to use in the fields provide. After clicking on the “submit” button, copy the token digits and paste them into the field on Veeple. After you have re-entered your passwords and the token has been added, the integration will be complete and you can start using the TubeMogul feature. If you have not yet set up an account at TubeMogul the system will take you through the necessary steps to get your TubeMogul account set up. Once your account is set up you can then come back and add your token at that point, completing the integration (Note that you can sign up for TubeMogul’s basic service for free. So the only cost you will incur is the $25/mo at Veeple. To learn more about TubeMogul’s basic free service, or upgraded services, click here to visit their site).

Once you have added your TubeMogul account to the Veeple system you will then be able to deploy any video in your Veeple inventory to your TubeMogul account and to any other sites that you have set up at TubeMogul through that account, all at once, all within the Veeple environment. You may deploy a video one time through each TubeMogul account to each sharing site. So once you have deployed a given video to one of your TubeMogul accounts to a final destination site (I.e. YouTube), you cannot do it again. You may at any time deploy the same video to the same TubeMogul account to a different destination site, or you may at any time deploy the same video to a different TubeMogul account. (Note that if you do have multiple accounts at TubeMogul you will be able to deploy your videos to all of your TubeMogul accounts as noted above, but only one TubeMogul account at a time).

Veeple will deploy the converted Flash file that Veeple uses to play in the Veeple Interactive Player. TubeMogul will then pass through that file to the sharing sites, or convert the file to another format that is acceptable for the few sites that do not accept FLV files.

To check the status/history of your deployment to TubeMogul through Veeple simply select the video file from your inventory and select the Deploy Video button. On the Deploy Video screen select the TubeMogul tab. Note that you can set up e-mail notification of all your deployments at TubeMogul. If you set this up then TubeMogul will send you an e-mail after each entire upload session has completed.

TubeMogul/Sharing Site Requirements

Veeple is limited through its API with TubeMogul on how many characters can be used in different areas. The limits are footnoted below. Beyond Veeple's limits to TubeMogul, each sharing site supported by TubeMogul has their own limit parameters for the videos uploaded to its site. It is important to understand these limits before deploying your videos out of Veeple and into TubeMogul (and best to understand them before you even upload a video to Veeple if you plan on deploying the video to TubeMogul). Below is a graph that outlines these limit parameters (Updated August 1, 2009). Note that if your video exceeds any character limits that TubeMogul will simply cut off the field at the limit length and still submit to the video site.

Though most sites only place limits on the video file size and not video length, a few sites do have length limits (I.e. You Tube: 10 minutes, 5min: 5 minutes). If in doubt, check each site's video length rules to make sure you comply with their length limits.

Basic Minimum Requirements:

  • Tags/Keywords Characters: A minimum of two non-identical tags/keywords (each at least three characters long)
  • Video Title and Video Description Characters: A minimum of one word (at least five characters long)

* Multi-word Tag Support means site allows spaces between tag/keywords so you can create phrases. All other sites will separate all words divided by a space into a single tag or keyword. For multi-word sites make sure you use commas to separate each word or phrase.

TubeMogul also needs to map its video categories to the myriad video categories that all the different sites have. Click here to see how TubeMogul will map the category you choose when deploying your video.

TubeMogul Analytics

Another powerful element of the TubeMogul feature is the ability to track and measure all of the videos you deploy to TubeMogul and your sharing sites, all within your Veeple account. To do this simply select the “Analytics” button in your account and select “TubeMogul Video Syndication” from the “Show chart” pull-down menu. Here you will be able to see how many views your videos have received at each site you have deployed the video to, as well as number of comments, ratings, and ratings average. We plan to build many more features into our TubeMogul analytics at Veeple so you can track even more elements of your syndicated videos through TubeMogul, including geo-code, where your videos have been embedded, etc. So stay tuned!

For more information on how TubeMogul distribution and analytics work please contact us at (650) 331-0785, e-mail us at support@veeple.com or view our video tutorial by clicking here. Again, you may also visit TubeMogul’s FAQ section of their site for any specific technical questions that we have not answered.

(Note: Since the file uploaded to the video sharing sites through TubeMogul will be uploaded into the proprietary players for each site, the interactivity you add to your videos through the Veeple player will not manifest at these sharing sites. All interactivity will remain on all websites, blogs, social networking sites and URL links that you deploy the video to using the Veeple player. Note that we plan to add our interactivity to a number of these sharing sites in the future).

Can I have multiple users on my account?

Yes. In your Account Details area you can invite multiple people via e-mail to become “Users” on your account. They will receive an e-mail asking them to confirm their account. After doing so they will receive a final e-mail with their unique User Name and Password (which they can change at any time). You can set what type of access they have to the account (I.e. Upload, Deploy, Edit, and Delete).

Can I make my videos interactive at Veeple and play them on destination sites like YouTube and Vimeo?

No. In order to use our interactive technology you must use the Veeple player. It is our player that makes the clickable technology work. Think of it as a piece of cellophane that you place on top of the video. Without the Veeple player you lose the piece of cellophane that contains the interactive spots. Destination sites like YouTube and Vimeo use their own player and require you to upload your raw video to their sites. Since the Veeple interactive spots live inside the piece of cellophane in our player and not in your original video, the interactive spots will not transfer with your video when you upload the raw video to another destination site. Wherever you can "embed" you video with an embed code Veeple will work. That means millions of websites and blogs across the internet.

Do I have to sign-up for a Veeple account to upload videos?

Yes. Since videos are attached to your account profile, you must sign-up to upload videos. Becoming a subscriber also allows you to save videos, edit videos. Click here to sign-up.

Why do I have to enter a URL when I deploy my video?

Measuring the success of your video is important. Our advanced analytics and reporting are critical to this process. One analytic that is important is what site a video is playing on. Since not every website or blog allows that information to be sent back to our servers, we require that you enter the URL of where the video is playing so we can ensure that we can track ever site the video is playing on. This will help ensure that you can effectively measure the success of your videos (Note that you only need to enter the basic URL of the main website or blog that you are deploying too. You can enter the exact URL page if you wish but this is not mandatory).

How do I make my videos clickable?

After you have successfully uploaded your video, highlight your video by clicking on it in the inventory page. Once the video you want to edit has been highlighted, click on the "Edit Video" button. The editor window should now be open. In the top left corner, click on "Add Spots". You should see three options in the drop down menu; Annotations, Documents, Media.

Annotations – You can add a speech bubble, thought bubble or text box overlay to your video for any period of time during your video. Click on your preferred annotation, when it shoes up over the video, simply click and drag it to where you want it to be. Click on the annotation and type in your text. You can modify the size and color of the typeface by clicking on the properties tab, which is the rectangular icon at the top of the player in the editor. Once you have set up the annotation(s), you can add as many as you like, you can now set the duration of the annotation. Simply click the stopwatch icon at the top of the player. You now can set how long you want the icon to stay on the screen for by clicking the up/down arrows under "Duration".

Documents – You can add PDFs, PPTS and Word documents to your videos. Click on "Documents" in the drop down menu. Click on any format you choose. Enter a name for the file, click "Upload" to search your hard drive for the appropriate file and click on it. Once uploaded, a "View" button will appear that your file is attached to the specified icon. Click "OK" and you will see the appropriate icon in the video window. Click and drag it to wherever you want in the window and you can now set your time parameters the same way you did for the annotations as outlined above.

Media – You can add images (JPG, GIF, PNG) or flash files (SWF) directly to your videos. These can be clickable or not. Veeple has created 15 generic image icons that can be added to your videos. You can also use your own image. You can set this up where a consumer clicks on the link and immediately they are sent to the designated URL of your choosing. We call this "One Click". If you want an information panel to pop up within the video window giving consumers some information before they leave your video and go to the pre-designated URL of your choosing, we call this "Two Clicks". Remember that you do not have to add a URL link, this is an option.

One Click - Click on "Media" in the "Add Spots" drop down menu. Type in the title of the link, this is the information that will show up when a consumer mouses over the link when viewing your video online, and the website url. Now click "Spot Image" and you should see the icons from which to choose. Click on an image and then click on "OK". You can now drag the link anywhere within the video window and set the time parameters as outlined under annotations above.

Two Clicks - Click on "Media" in the "Add Spots" drop down menu. Type in the title of the link, this is the information that will show up when a consumer mouses over the link when viewing your video online, and the website url. Now click the button labeled "Display Information Panel". Enter the text you want to show up in the information panel. If you want to set an alternate image in the info panel, select the button to make the change and add it from your hard drive. Now click "Spot Image" and you should see the icons from which to choose. Click on an image and then click on "OK". You can now drag the link anywhere within the video window and set the time parameters as outlined under annotations above.

Transparent Images – In order to make people, places and/or images clickable within your video, you will need to add a transparent image and size it accordingly to your specific needs. Click on "Media" in the "Add Spots" drop down menu. Type in the title of the link, this is the information that will show up when a consumer mouses over the link when viewing your video online, and the website url. Now click "Spot Image" and the transparent icon is located in the bottom right corner of the Veeple icon tray. Click on the icon and then click on "OK". You can now drag the link anywhere within the video window, size it and set the time parameters as outlined under annotations above.

Tip: Whenever you add a spot and have completed your work, please remember to hit the OK button in order to "Save" your work.

Tip: While in the editor, if you want to delete any annotation, document or web link, simply highlight the inserted link and click on the delete icon, the big X, at the top of the player.

Does the site where my Veeple video is playing close when I click on a link in the video?

No. One of the cool things about Veeple is that you never leave the Veeple site when you click on a link in the video. It may appear that you have surfed somewhere else, depending on how you have your browser set up, but you haven't. If your browser is set up with "tabs," when you click on a link in the video another tab will open up for that link. To go back to Veeple, simply find and click on the Veeple tab. Even if your browser is set up for a new window to open each time you click on a link, the Veeple site is still there, but it may be hidden behind the new window.

Is there someone that I can call if I am still having trouble using Veeple?

Veeple interPlayTM API

How does the Veeple interPlayTM Interactive & Analytics API work?

With the success that Veeple is seeing with our complete interactive video solution, we are now making available to the entire online video space our interactivity through an application program interface (API). Now, any developer can plug the Veeple interactivity into a 3rd-party Flash Media player via an overlay, thereby leveraging the Veeple interactive solution with their own video player and content management system. And the best part about the interactive overlay API is its free!

With the Veeple interPlayTM API also comes a 60-day free trail to our advanced clickable analytics package. With Veeple Analytics you can measure how your viewers are engaging directly with your videos and all the interactive spots within those videos. So our analytics suite offers a powerful way to truly measure "real" viewer engagement.

To work with Veeple interPlayTM API, your videos must be accessible online via a URL which supports HTTP based progressive download. Veeple interPlayTM supports Videos encoded in the Flash Video (FLV) formats ( e.g. ON2 VP6, H.264 ).
